SUMMARY: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered OR nurse to join the multidisciplinary cardiac surgery team consisting of the Registered Nurse Perfusionist PA Equipment Tech anesthesiologists and the cardiac surgeons. The cardiac surgical registered nurse is responsible for assuring competent compassionate individualized nursing care for a wide range of patients undergoing cardiac surgery. The cardiac surgical registered nurse ensures that the care is safe efficient effective timely and meets the cultural spiritual and ethnic needs of the patient / family. Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient / family centered care is a must. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 2 years cardiothoracic surgery scrub and circulating experience preferred OR 5 years nursing practice as a scrub or circulator role within a Main OR required COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: To perform this job successfully within the scope of nursing an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to demonstrate any knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients. The responsibilities listed below but not limited to are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. ability to work in a high acuity environment with critically ill patients ability to work with an interdisciplinary team competent in the circulator role competent in the scrub role participate in oncall responsibilities include weeknights weekends and holidays in rotation EDUCATION REQUIRED: Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing is required. Bachelors Degree is preferred. CNOR preferred LICENSES CERTIFICATION and/or REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Position requires a Valid/Current license to practice as a RN License in Massachusetts. BLS Required ACLS Required
