We are seeking an experienced and innovative Chief Engineer to join our team in the beautiful coastal city of Sharm ElSheikh Egypt. As the Chief Engineer you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our facilities ensuring optimal performance and leading our engineering team to new heights of excellence.
- Oversee daily operations of the engineering department including preventive and corrective maintenance of building facilities and equipment
- Conduct regular inspections to determine maintenance needs required equipment and necessary services
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations by meeting with government and insurance inspectors and implementing required followup actions
- Develop and maintain inventory management systems for maintenance supplies machinery equipment and parts
- Monitor and control departmental budgets implementing costeffective solutions without compromising quality
- Lead and mentor a team of engineering professionals fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
- Implement and oversee sustainable engineering practices to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact
- Develop and execute longterm maintenance strategies and capital improvement projects
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction
- Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in building systems and maintenance practices
Qualifications :
- Licensed Mechanical Engineer preferably with Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME) certification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the hotel or resort industry with a focus on facilities management
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate diverse teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Highly organized with demonstrated capacity to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance systems and general computer applications
- Indepth knowledge of building systems maintenance practices and safety standards
- Proven track record in project management CAPEX planning and continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience with sustainable engineering practices and energy conservation methods
- Thorough understanding of local building codes and regulations in Egypt
- Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative costeffective solutions
- Strong decisionmaking skills with a goaloriented and visionary approach
- Certification in engineering or facilities management is a plus
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic resort environment with varying schedules as needed
