The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for developing implementing and overseeing health and safety policies and procedures for the hydropower project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in health and safety management within largescale construction or engineering projects with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive health and safety management system tailored to the hydropower project.
- Conduct risk assessments and regular site inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Lead health and safety training programs for project staff and subcontractors to promote a safetyfirst culture.
- Investigate accidents incidents and near misses and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics ensuring continuous improvement in safety practices.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders regarding health and safety matters.
Qualifications :
Knowledge & Expertise:
- Hands on experience of manufacturing processes.
- Solid computer skills with an emphasis on Excel Word and PowerPoint.
- Must have advanced analytical problem solving decision making and communication skills and possess ability to work at a higher level of detail while ensuring proper controls are in place.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Selfmotivated and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate with other departments and managers and work as a team.
