Infrastructure BIM Coordinator - Assystem

In our 12 countries (Europe Middle East Asia) of operation we are working on the production and distribution of lowcarbon electricity through the development of nuclear and renewable energies. We are also supporting the modernisation and development of energy grids managing the setup and siting for new transmission and distribution networks and using hydrogen to decarbonise the transport and industry sectors.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Ensuring coordination of BIM activities (i.e. coordinate systems standard templates clash management design review etc.) are shared and complied to among the design stakeholders.
• Creating and maintaining BIM Models for proposed and existing utility pipe network and associated appurtenances underground power water networks storm drainage system sanitary sewer system gas system telecommunications/data systems etc.
• Develop standard workflows for interoperability between BIM/CAD with GIS to support construction logistics sustainability and permitting processes.
• Collaboratively working with various engineering disciplines participating in model coordination meetings and aspiring to deliver high quality clash free models.
• Develop and implement BIM standards templates and workflows for the team.
• Develop/Enhance standard processes for BIM/3D model health check against project requirements.
• Developing/Enhancing communicating and institutionalizing standardized BIM workflows to the project stakeholders and subcontractors (e.g. Design Construction and Project Management).
• Ensure that the design standards align with CAD / BIM / GIS strategy and link appropriately with the wider business.
• Developing accurate utilities layout plans easement plans site plans from conceptual level sketches prepared by planning/design staff.
• Creating new library components for utility infrastructure scope as needed.
• Stay up to date on the latest BIM technologies and trends and propose innovative solutions for improving workflows.
• Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders including architects engineers contractors and owners.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members on BIM software and processes.
• Manage and track your own workload meeting deadlines and project objectives.
• Conducts regular Assessments to review the implementation of the BEP and compliance to the project execution strategy capture Lessons Learned and seek opportunities for improvement.
• Lead and manage the utilities and road infrastructure projects using BIM processes standards and project information delivery cycle.
• Provide guidance and assistance with design projects to ensure they are setup and progress optimally.
• Provide guidance and support to the project team on BIM processes standards and technologies.
• Review and validate project deliverables to ensure they meet project requirements.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of BIM models and project deliverables.
• Use Civil 3D to design plans and profiles of utilities including using and creating pipe networks editing and changing parts and styles catch basin sizing/spacing and minimum cover manhole sizing/spacing and minimum cover hydrant spacing and creating waterlines in profile with deflection and exaggeration per jurisdictional requirements.
• Sound Knowledge of design software such as Autodesk Civil 3D MX Roads software traffic analysis software WaterCAD SewerCAD and StormCAD is required and familiarity with sustainable design techniques will be an added advantage.
• Assists the department head to respond to RFP (Requests for Proposal) from the Clients as and when required.
• Prepares a detailed list of project deliverables and requirement of resources at Consultancy Services Proposal/Tender Stage and upon award of the projects.

MY PROFILE

Academic/Professional:

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
• Design consultant background is preferred.
• SEC (Saudi engineering consulate) membership is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a proven track record of success in complex projects.

JobSpecific Skills:

• Indepth knowledge of wet utility and roads engineering principles standards codes and regulations.
• Extensive experience in wet utility system design preferably in a senior or leadership role
• Advanced knowledge using design softwares and standards. (WATER CAD HAMMER SEWER CAD AND STORM CAD).
• Expertise in BIM software such as Civil3D and Navisworks.
• Expert user of ArcGIS and/or ArcMap.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D BIM 360 ProjectWise and other specialized Techniques / Tools / Software related to Infrastructure Design.
• Excellent communication collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
