Responsibilities of Registered Nurse MotherBaby / Couplet Care / Postpartum

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns in the postpartum period ensuring their physical and emotional wellbeing.
• Conduct assessments of mothers and infants monitoring vital signs and observing for any signs of complications or concerns.
• Assist with breastfeeding education and support including proper positioning and latching techniques.
• Educate new mothers on newborn care including feeding diapering bathing and safe sleep practices.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team including physicians lactation consultants and social workers to ensure holistic care for patients.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments care provided and any interventions or outcomes.
• Provide emotional support and guidance to new mothers and their families addressing their concerns and helping them navigate the challenges of parenthood.
• Participate in discharge planning and provide education to families on postdischarge care and followup appointments.

Requirements for Registered Nurse MotherBaby / Couplet Care / Postpartum

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of insert state.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Certification in MaternalNewborn Nursing (RNC) or willingness to obtain within one year of hire.
• Minimum of insert number years of experience in maternalchild nursing with specific experience in postpartum care preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively educate and support patients and their families.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to providing patientcentered care with empathy compassion and cultural sensitivity.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays as needed.
