School Physical Therapist 2024-2025

We are seeking a dedicated School Physical Therapist to join our educational teams across Illinois. This pivotal role involves providing physical therapy services to students with diverse abilities within the school setting. The successful candidate will work closely with students to improve their physical capacities and enhance their participation in school activities. By collaborating with educators parents and other professionals the School Physical Therapist plays a critical role in supporting the overall educational and developmental goals of the students.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students motor skills and physical abilities to assess their functional performance within the school environment.
  
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans that aim to improve students strength mobility and coordination.
  
• Collaborate with special education staff to integrate physical therapy goals with educational objectives and student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  
• Provide direct therapy interventions and support adapting techniques to meet the needs of each student.
  
• Educate and train school staff students and families on strategies to enhance students physical capabilities and safety.
  
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss and plan student care and educational strategies.
  
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of therapy sessions assessments and progress reports in compliance with school district policies and state regulations.
