As the Actuarial Manager you will be at the forefront of enhancing our financial integrity and strategic market position. Your expertise will be pivotal in navigating the complexities of life insurance valuation with a keen eye on the evolving landscape of IFRS 17 standards. You will not only safeguard the precision of our financial reporting but will also illuminate paths for performance optimization ensuring the business thrives in a competitive and regulatorycompliant environment while ensuring appropriate controls are in place. Reporting to the Head of Actuarial Services the role will include working closely with the Senior Manager responsible for Product Development and Strategy senior stakeholders in the Finance Community and IT Community as well as Reinsurers.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Strategy: Collaborate with the Managing Director and Board of Directors to articulate the organization s longterm strategy in line with environmental imperatives drive the communication & cascade of the defined strategy for the business strategy across the company and provide leadership on the strategy s implementation.
Valuation and Financial Reporting: Lead the actuarial valuation process ensuring accurate and timely delivery of life insurance financial reporting. Play a key role in the implementation and ongoing adherence to IFRS 17 requirements driving the transformation of reporting processes to align with these new standards.
Actuarial Pricing: Lead all pricing efforts and perform highly complex product line evaluations to include analysis and advice on actuarial pricing tools and techniques new products and risk modelling:
Manage pricing models methodology and tools;
Create the standards of practice for the development implementation and updating of pricing models for all product lines and regions;
Identify pricing review needs by line and country set rate review schedules accordingly and manage the review process to meet those schedules;
Set priorities for pricing actuaries predictive modeling and research as it relates to input to underwriting evaluate R&D input and coordinate price informative inputs (from pricing actuaries predictive modelers claims and R&D) to reach best in class pricing information.
Channel Development: Provide leadership/expertise in the development pricing and risk segmentation strategies for multiple distribution channels (including brokers independent agency captive agency direct marketing and alternative distribution channels). Product Development: Lead the businesses product development cycle and validate profitability vs. pricing benchmarks.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree from an accredited university.
- Actuarial Consultant with at least 8 subjects with an accredited actuarial society and at least 10 years of actuarial experience.
- Experience in valuation and pricing of insurance products would be a distinct advantage.
- Mustve have passed at least five professional actuarial exams.
