Your opportunity

We are looking for a Project Portfolio Manager responsible for overseeing and managing the Project Management Office (PMO) function within BKL. This role involves defining and refining project management standards processes and methodologies to elevate organisational performance. You will collaborate extensively with project managers and teams across BKL ensuring all projects not only align with but also actively advance our organisational goals and strategic framework. Your leadership will provide critical visibility of project metrics and progress to senior management making this role essential to our companys success and your professional growth.

How you will make a difference

The Project Portfolio Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing our companys project execution by monitoring project performance and providing essential guidance to project managers. By focusing on tracking performance metrics this role will ensure projects stay aligned with our strategic objectives. Additionally the manager will proactively handle risk management and resource dependencies maintaining project integrity and timeliness. Effective communication and robust leadership will enable this individual to provide valuable insights and reports to senior management fostering an environment of transparency and accountability. With an agile and pragmatic approach the Project Portfolio Manager will be instrumental in driving project success and operational excellence making them a highly valued addition to our team.

You Will

  • Champion and enforce an organisationwide standard framework for project delivery including standards and templates to assist successful delivery.
  • Establish organisationwide project reporting and control.
  • Provide visibility and prepare documentation for the Change Board (CB) to assist in the safe initiation of new projects and controlled delivery of inflight projects.
  • Change Board management maintain the overall project pipeline for BKL support projects through the project lifecycle prepare and manage CB meetings and facilitate the change request process.
  • Resource planning: Understand project resource requirements (internal and external) advise on any upcoming resource pinchpoints and identify and help close any capability gaps.
  • Reporting: Create portfoliolevel status reports and dashboards for the Executive highlight areas of concern or progress and identify any key dependencies and trends in project risks and issues.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Coach project teams on risk management and assist with developing effective risk management and issue treatment.
  • Benefits visibility: help projects maintain their benefits case throughout the project lifecycle and provide visibility during and post project closure.
  • Standards & Guidance: Champion project standards guidance templates and tools across BKL provide training and coaching to project teams continually review and apply best practice to ensure the governance process is adding value.

You will be ideal for this role if:

  • Hold one or more of the following qualifications P3O Practitioner MSP PMQ or PRINCE2/Agile Practitioner.
  • Have at least three years of experience in managing a portfolio of projects within a nondeliveryfocused organisation.
  • Have demonstratable experience with both traditional and agile project delivery methodologies.
  • Have experience implementing different software systems such as Dynamics 365 Xero Karbon or Silverfin.
  • Can collect analyse and present data clearly and effectively.
  • Have experience conducting RAID management and planning workshops.
  • Are adept at managing and supporting Change Approval Boards.
  • Have a track record of reporting to executivelevel boards on portfolio status issues and successes.
  • Have crossindustry experience.
  • Exhibit strong relationshipbuilding and collaboration skills.
  • Communicate clearly and persuasively without relying on authority.
  • Use a pragmatic approach to problemsolving and can challenge ideas professionally.
  • Are receptive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
