Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing complex surgeries on the brain spinal cord and peripheral nerves
• Evaluating patients medical history and conducting physical examinations
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as MRI CT scans and Xrays
• Developing treatment plans and discussing surgical options with patients
• Collaborating with other specialists such as neurologists and radiologists
• Ensuring the surgical team is prepared and informed about each procedure
• Assessing and monitoring patients postsurgery for complications
• Continuing medical education and staying updated with advancements in neurosurgery
• Participating in research and clinical trials
• Providing mentorship and training to medical students and residents
• Remaining compliant with legal and ethical standards in healthcare
• Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to strategic planning
• Communicating effectively with patients and their families
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives
• Providing consultations and second opinions

Required Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Completion of residency in neurosurgery
• Board certification in neurosurgery
• State medical licensure and privileges to practice neurosurgery
• Demonstrated expertise in performing neurosurgical procedures
• Strong clinical judgment and decisionmaking abilities
• Excellent handeye coordination and fine motor skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Empathy and compassion for patients and their families
• Ability to work in a fastpaced and highpressure environment
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and education
