Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate positioning of patients for treatment and minimize radiation exposure to healthy tissue
• Monitor and assess patients during treatment sessions reporting any adverse reactions
• Collaborate with oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans
• Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment ensuring safety and quality standards
• Educate and support patients and their families about the treatment process and potential side effects
• Maintain accurate patient records including treatment plans progress notes and outcomes
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Participate in quality assurance activities to optimize treatment outcomes
• Conduct regular checks and calibrations of equipment to ensure accuracy and effectiveness
• Collaborate with the medical team to monitor and manage patient care and progress
• Stay updated on industry trends technologies and best practices for radiation therapy
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge
• Support and contribute to research initiatives and clinical trials related to radiation therapy

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Radiation Therapy or related field
• Certification in radiation therapy from an accredited program
• Licensure as a Radiation Therapist in the state of practice
• Proven experience in administering radiation therapy in a clinical setting
• Strong understanding of medical terminologies anatomy and physiology
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of radiation safety protocols and procedures
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining radiation therapy equipment
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
