WI - RN - Pediatric Universal Care IMC Stepdown - DayNights - Extension Only

Please Read Before Submitting: Traveler must meet all minimum requirements below to be considered. Do not submit traveler who have or will have expiring licenses and/or certifications during time frame of entire assignment. Traveler will automatically be declined. Only submit traveler who can work schedule in posting and interested in the unit. We are seeking a Registered Nurse to work on our 24bed pediatric unit that specializes in the care of the medically complex child as well as general care pediatrics. The nurses on this unit work very closely with a multidisciplinary team which includes Physicians Respiratory Therapists Physical Therapists Psychologists Surgeons Case Managers Social Workers and Child Life Specialists to coordinate a holistic plan of care for the patient and family.Pediatric populations on this unit include children dependent on technology such as home ventilators and home dialysis as well as children dependent on tracheostomies. The unit also specializes in the care of children with acute and chronic nephrology diseases new diagnosis of type 1 diabetes epilepsy and idiopathic/nonidiopathic scoliosis as well as general care pediatric patients requiring medical and surgical care. Minimum Requirements: Facility Requirement: Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (address must be included in travelers profile). Experience: Minimum two years pediatric experience required including trach experience.Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years. Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or similar size hospital. Traveler must have successfully completed 13 week travel assignment. Licensure and Certification: Traveler must have Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or compact license from their permanent address state. BLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLYPALS must be certified through American Heart Associate ONLY Education:Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred. References Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only for work performed in the last two years). Telemetry Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions). UW Health Recruitment will send instructions to traveler 23 weeks prior to start date. Floating Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the travelers competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler s assignment if the primary unit no longer has a need shifts will be reassigned to another unit in order to complete contract. Shift: 36 hrs/week Day/Nights majority of schedule will be 12 hour shifts. Weekend (every other) and holiday rotation required based on contract. Flexibility is required per operational needs of department.
