Description:

The main function of a database analyst/programmer is to coordinate changes to computer databases test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. A typical database analyst/programmer is responsible for planning coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database. Also this role will be helping on their development strategy projects.

Typical Day:

• Research existing mainframe programs and documenting/flow charting findings
• Enhancing existing programs
• Writing custom onetimeonly use programs to perform data modifications
• Documenting change evidence for FSA/SOX compliance

Interaction with team:

Technical Skills Required:

• 2 years experience with mainframe environment preferably GIS Cluster C/A COBOL development
• 3 years SQL / DB2 programming mainframe
• 3 years IMS or CICS development
• 2 years (IMS preferred)
• 2 years with debugging tools like Xpeditor AbendAid
• 2 experience working with endcustomers on IT requirements / testing

(Desired)

• Experience in working with FSA/SOX Controls

Soft Skills Required:

• Good communicator / clear English skills

Education Requirements:

• Programming certificate degree at least undergrad / community college 2 yr. preferably/desired 4 year Comp Sci degree
• No degree they will need to have at least 810 of actual hands on experience in this role.
• Masters degree they will at least 4 years of experience
