What will the apprentice be doing

• Dispensing of medication to patients
• Over counter sales of nonprescription medication
• Check and monitor prescription slips
• Health & Safety Responsibility
• Observing COVID Restrictions and Guidelines
• Use of Patient Record Systems and use of smart card
• Data Entry relating to medication
• Labelling and Dispensing
• Accuracy and Attention to detail
• Numerate
• Working within a team environment
• Liaison with Doctors surgery and health professionals

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end

• Pharmacy Assistant Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
• Medicine Counter Assistant Course accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council GPhc
• Dispensing Assistant Course accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council GPhc
• EndPoint Assessment (EPA)
• Inhouse training

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship

• Pharmacy Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship
• A permanent position within the organisation

• GCSE or equivalent English (Grade C/4 or above) essential
