Position: Product Design Engineer

Location: Shawnee OK

Major multinational manufacturer of thermoplastic piping systems and instrumentation serving the microelectronics water treatment chemical processing food and beverage and life sciences market segments is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our engineering group as a Product Design Engineer. Job description:

• Responsible for the creation of new polyethylene plastic pipe fitting designs along with the appropriate ancillary installation equipment
• Oversee the product life cycle management of existing products
• Perform Flow Analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for fitting design and/or customer applications
• Create detailed product drawings using GD&T
• Create and maintain engineering product specifications
• Provide feasibility studies and costing estimates for new products
• Be the project manager or contributing member of applicable new product development projects
• Provide timely engineering support to Production Product Management and Sales as required
• Work closely with Product Management to review the existing product portfolio to identify and implement cost reduction and performance enhancement opportunities
• Participate in and/or lead crossfunctional teams to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product quality issues

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in engineering design engineering computer modelling or other utilityrelated area preferred
• Proficient in SolidWorks or similar CAD software to develop models and drawings
• Ability to identify patterns or trends within data
• Ability to understand and create complex plans or diagrams (e.g. blueprints)
• Prior experience in piping design and/or field experience with piping systems is desirable
• Prior experience with the injection molding of plastics is desirable
• Project management experience
• Selfstarter/Acts on own initiative making decisions after a thorough evaluation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
