Network Engineer Firewall Engineer

This description applies to all Network Engineer related skill sets to include Network Technician Firewall Engineer WAN Engineer NIPS/NIDS Engineer etc. It can be modified to meet skill set requirements but must be applicable to the appropriate levels

DUTIES:

• Gathering and documenting existing client network and device information into a workbook that will be leveraged to develop the migration plan.
• Support FW & NW engineering in the development of the Engineering Work Order (EWO) & Firewall Changes.
• Entry Level experience with network engineering and architecture skills.
• Ability to support a team of network engineers and client accounts in the network transformation effort.
• Strong requirements gathering and documentation of network environments.
• Respond to requests for technical information from Lead Engineers.
• Travel may be required.

REQUIRED:

• 5 years in network engineering and documentation.
• CCNP required CCIE desired Networking Technology equivalent certification or equivalent network certification with minimum 5 years experience in data center network infrastructures.
• Knowledge of networking hardware including routers switches and firewalls.
• Expert level capabilities within the Microsoft Office suite of tools especially Excel and Visio.
• Professional attention to detail and with sense of urgency.
• Knowledge of IP including TCP UDP NATing OSPF and BGP.
• Knowledge of IOS stack layer 1 2 3

EDUCATION:

• HS diploma or equivalent required

Higher education required (associate or bachelors degree in a technical field). This requirement can be waived at hiring mangers discretion if work experience and/or history are applicable.
