Firmware Engineer

Seacoast Science is a research and development company focused on the development of chemical sensor systems with the primary goals placed on the manufacture of gas sensors for a variety of niche detection markets such as Environmental Sensing applications Military and Homeland Security Medical Devices educational and research products.

Tasks

We are looking for a Firmware Engineer who will be responsible for development of software for our sensor systems. Applicant must have background in electrical engineering and must have good writing and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

RESPONSIBLITIES:

Assist our team of scientists and engineers in the development of prototype and production level scientific research equipment.

Document system requirement with flow charts to determine software requirements.

Transforming customer needs into explicit designs by defining and implement embedded system behavior on a variety of projects.

Write code with source documentation and use best practices of source code

management with limited supervision.

Perform verification and validation testing and documentation and system debugging both alone and working in conjunction with the team.

Write operation instructions and other documents as needed to support PC/App software.

The successful candidate will be a selfstarter with a desire to learn new skills outside their primary area of study. And must be a person who has initiative willingness to take on responsibility for development tasks and a desire to work across a variety of projects.

Requirements

REQUIREMENT:

Bachelors Degree in electrical Engineering Computer Science Software

Engineering or Related Discipline

3 Years Minimum Work Experience in Embedded Systems Programming

Coding skills in both Assembler and C languages

Microchip Programming Environment (MPLAB)

Experience with a Variety of Serial Interfaces (SPI/I2C/UART)

Multitasking Abilities

Display Initiative and Accept Responsibility

Team oriented

Ability to Work Without Supervision

Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.

This position requires little to no travel within domestic US
