Civils Operative

Comex 2000 is currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Civils Operative to join our Preenablement team covering the west of Scotland. If you are a committed hardworking individual who is eager to learn come and join the Comex2000 family!

What are we looking for

We are looking for a skilled Operative to perform excavations; repairs and rereinstatements; the installation of ducting chambers and street cabinets; and the installation of draw rope on telecoms infrastructure located within the public highway and customer premises. This will be done using uptodate standard operating procedures and in full compliance to current legislation health and safety requirements and company policies.

What will you be doing

As a Civils Operative your core responsibilities will be:

• Providing new installation and repair of network duct for associated customer connections.
  
• Clearing blockages and restoring the highway to industry standard ensuring all evidence (data or photos) is captured on company supplied assets i.e. phone or tablet.
  
• Be competent in the use of Stihl Saws / Wacker plates / trench compactor and hold the correct certification to complete the works.
  
• Installing draw rope and drop cable to relevant connection points following installation/repair of duct works.
  
• Complete appropriate paperwork for your daily works on job sheets risk assessments plant sheets and/or van sheets.
  
• Experience of risk assessment and hazard identification with a keen focus on health and safety requirements and responsibilities.

Skills and Qualifications

• Good physical health
  
• Experience in a similar operational or engineering environment within the telecommunications industry
  
• Industry recognized streetworks qualifications
  
• Hold a full UK driver s license
  
• Hold the following qualifications: NRSWA unit 1 9 PIA (S7) SA002a
