About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join Excis as a Management Accountant, reporting to the CFO.
Responsibilities include:
MANAGEMENT REPORTING:
o Prepare the monthly financial reporting packs: profit and loss accounts, Balance Sheet, variance analysis and commentary for each project.
Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure all the Intercompany Accounts are fully reconciled
Management of cost expenditure by project including accruals and prepayments
Put checks in place to identify projects that are running at negative/low margins, where income has not been billed, where income is recorded, but there is no matching cost, etc
o Other ad/hoc Reporting:
Customer reports
Project reports (per country or global)
o Cash Flow forecast
ANNUAL BUDGET
Prepare the annual budget for the country(ies) you are looking after. The country budget will then be consolidated into the Group Master Budget
o ANNUAL ACCOUNTS
Meticulously prepare the Annual Accounts to Trial Balance for External Accountants. This includes, but is not limited to:
Wage Reconciliations
VAT Reconciliations
Employee average numbers
Operating Leases
Posting year end Manual Journals
Supporting items to the balance sheet:
o Prepayments
o Accruals (for countries on Accruals basis)
o Fixed Asset Registrar and Depreciation Schedule
o Aged Receivables & Bad Debt provision
o Other Creditors/ Long Term Creditors
o etc
- VAT Returns (monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually)
Prepare the data by doing an internal audit check
Submit the data to the local accountant for filling, or file online directly if access if acquired.
Requirements
This role would ideally suit someone with the following characteristics, knowledge and skills:
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Excellent accounting software, Xero, would be an advantage but not essential, and excel skills are a must.
- A determined, independent individual with good commercial sense.
- A thorough and diligent approach to work with extra attention to detail.
- A problem solver who is able to think out of the box
- Efficient, organized and eager to set the pace, maintaining high standards.
- A confident communicator with people, face to face and through written communication.
- A prompt, ready and slightly restless energy and keenness to keep things moving forward followed through to completion.
