Pay Range:

$13.00-$17.50/hr

Educational Requirements:

• HS Diploma (required)
• 2 years experience (preferred)

Other Requirements:

• Knowledgeable of the child's physical, emotional, and developmental patterns.
• Sensitivity to the individual and group needs of children. A positive approach to the child.
• Evidence of emotional maturity and stability.
• Sufficient maturity and sound judgment to function in a crisis.
• Ability to create an atmosphere of positive and appropriate discipline.
• Sensitive to the individual needs of parents.
• Ability to communicate with parents effectively.
• Logical decision-making ability
• Good customer service
• Physical abilities required include lifting and carrying children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds and using arms, hands, legs, and feet with or without a corrective device to accomplish the job, including evacuation of the building during emergencies.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the welfare, health, and safety of the children in the group.
• Helps maintain the daily classroom activities, organization, cleanliness, and layout adhering to policies and procedures.
• Maintaining an orderly, clean, and appealing environment permits the child to grow and explore.
• Implement and model the school-wide behavior of positive reinforcement and redirection.
• Observe, record, and report significant individual and group behavior using the behavior report forms. Be knowledgeable and follow all the requirements of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
• Supervise floaters and afternoon staff as needed.
• Attend all mandatory school-related events and activities.
• Competent in First Aid/CPR, Water Safety, and Fire Safety procedures and regulations. Be knowledgeable with laws, state child regulations, and local regulatory agencies.
