GreatWater Garages has an amazing, full-time opening at our shop support center located at 161 Ottawa Ave. NW, Suite 401, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 for a Payroll Administrator. The Payroll Administrator performs all activities regarding the management of employee timekeeping. This role requires a person to be experienced in entering data with attention to detail and understands the importance of the confidentiality of financial and personal information. The ideal payroll admin is a thorough professional with good communication skills.


Essential Functions:
  • Verify payroll hours, commission/bonus, and payroll templates for more than 700+ employees on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Maintain the payroll system with current employee data.
  • Collecting, inputting, and verifying timekeeping information for all employees.
  • Import payroll template data to Paylocity.
  • Apply manual adjustments regarding compensation (bonuses, changes, deductions, PTO, overtime, etc.).
  • Answering employee questions, help desk tickets, and concerns regarding payroll.
  • Respond to requests for information from various internal and external partners.
  • All other ad-hoc projects and filing linked to Human Resources and payroll processes.
  • Assist with the processing of child support orders and garnishments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organization skills
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Highly proficient in computer skills and technology
  • Strong clerical, administrative, and general office skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet payroll deadlines
  • Ability to interrupt and calculate figures such as financial reports, discounts, interest, and percentages; ability to apply concepts of basic math
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications (specifically Microsoft Excel) with the ability to learn new and existing company specific software applications.
  • Exhibits a strong aptitude in understanding organizational policy considerations and statutory changes with minimal direction
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the company both on an individual basis and in groups
  • Bachelor s degree in accounting, or equivalent payroll administration experience required
  • 3+ years of proven, relevant experience in payroll processing in a fast-paced organization
  • Experience in automotive repair industry preferred, but not required
