Summary:
The Human Resources Manager plays a pivotal role in our organization, reporting directly to the Controller. This position is responsible for ensuring that policies and practices align with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. The Human Resources Manager oversees payroll and recruitment functions, identifies training needs, and implements training programs. This role also manages benefits administration, serves as the primary contact for employee inquiries, and oversees open enrollment and ACA reporting. Ultimately, the Human Resources Manager fosters a professional image among our current and prospective associates and will positively influence the Company's culture.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview, hire, and train staff.
- Conduct constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handle disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policies.
- Research, provide guidance, and implement competitive compensation, benefits, and incentive programs.
- Ensure compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other relevant laws and regulations.
- Identify, develop, plan, and implement training programs, policies, and procedures to address the organization's needs.
- Process timely and accurate weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and deductions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and reports.
- Stay up to date with employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills and a positive team-oriented attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software; knowledge of ADP Payroll system a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Thorough understanding of employment-related laws and regulations.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- At least five years of human resource management experience, including talent management and training.
- Experience in OSHA and MSHA compliance is highly preferred.
- Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR are strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of desk work and computer usage.
- Ability to engage in phone conversations.
- Conduct training and onboarding sessions in both group and one-on-one settings.
