About Sanctuary Hostel

Sanctuary Hostel is an innovative nonprofit startup with the goal of creating an animal shelter/ eco-hostel/ community garden to address the stray animal crisis in Mexico. Our model plans to be self-sustaining in that we will not rely solely on donations and thus not be at risk of returning animals to the streets. We have the land and are working with an architect to design custom buildings. As we continue to grow, we hope to collaborate and work with other nonprofits in both Mexico and the US.

Volunteer Role Summary:

We are looking to add an experienced and motivated Director of Fundraising to our team. Please note this is a VOLUNTEER role. As Director of Fundraising, you will have the opportunity to plan, direct and coordinate all the Sanctuary Hostel s Fundraising plans and campaigns. You will work closely with all of Sanctuary s constituents to ensure the long-term success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for all fundraising efforts in Mexico and United States.

Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising and development plan, fundraising materials, events, and campaigns in collaboration with the entire Sanctuary team.

Plan, coordinate and oversee all fundraising activities.

Create innovative ways to effectively engage donor audiences.

Direct solicitations of philanthropic contributions for all aspects of the Sanctuary Hostel s work.

Create and implement new and innovative ways to engage with our donor base.

Nurture relationships with long-term donors, and research and expand our network.

Qualifications:

Bachelor and #x27;s degree in business, marketing, or a related field

Prior experience in Fundraising and donor cultivation

Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills including exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Effective time management and leadership skills

Ability to multitask and prioritize

Passion for the mission of the organization

Note: This is an unpaid volunteer position, and the hours and duration of the position can be flexible based on the volunteer and #x27;s availability and the organization and #x27;s needs. The Director Fundraising will work closely with other volunteers and the executive team to ensure alignment with the organization and #x27;s strategic goals and objectives. Travel may be required for this position.
