Project Manager

Equinox Consulting Partners is seeking a Project Manager for our client in Petersburg, VA. The successful candidate will support the Project Portfolio Management Office in Virginia State University s (VSU) Technology Services division. This is a HYBRID work position that will require the Project Manager to be ONSITE 3 days a week. Only candidates local to the Petersburg, VA area will be considered.

Skills :

This position will manage, plan and conduct projects to support effective and efficient operations and provide leadership in performing analysis and technology solutions for the University. The Project Manager will ensure compliance with COV/VITA standards and best practices for project oversight and management. Other duties will include but are not limited to:

• Leading teams to deliver the project(s) that span across one or more business units
• Ensuring adherence to all policies and processes, both internal and external
• Managing project timelines and budgets, and negotiating vendor contracts
• Providing leadership in the process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery
• Drafting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary
