Fitter and Turner

The main responsibility of this position is to carry out routine and preventative maintenance of all allocated plant and equipment, machinery and facilities. You will be responsible for a team and its activities and will need to ensure all work complies with industry standards.

Skills :

• Maintain plant equipment, for example, pump, steam lines, pneumatic components and machinery.
• Perform plant maintenance during the shutdown period which is sometimes not working hours.
• Understanding and interpretation of new drawings and manuals.
• Install new machines and equipment as and when instructed.
• Responding to emergency machine breakdowns throughout the plant.
• Do regular inspections of plant equipment according to the checklist and maintenance plan.
• Give feedback to Maintenance Engineer on breakdown root cause analyses.
• Attend to all relevant breakdowns during the responsible standby period.
• Manage Artisan Assistant according to HR policies and the Disciplinary Code of Conduct.
• Perform tasks according to Health and Safety procedures and Food Safety Procedures.
• Complete DMS Work orders and Work order book to keep a record of work completed.
• Apply for parts by making use of the requisition procedure.
• Follow workshop housekeeping rules and implement the 5s strategy.
• Strive to achieve results on the individual performance scorecards.
• Maintain a safety standard throughout work.
