Position Name:Senior/Principal Application Engineer

Description:

Working as a Senior/Principal Application Engineer – based in Tokyo, you will:

• Develop necessary hardware and software to enable comprehensive silicon device evaluation: demo board schematic design; PCB layout review; simulation; automation software
• Conduct power IC evaluations and debugging on-chip and board level
• Create technical documents (datasheet, evaluation report, application note)
• Document errata to support necessary device modifications and develop workaround solutions
• Support internal design engineers, FAEs, and external customers to solve technical issues
• Work with technical marketing, system architect, and design engineers to define IC functions and specifications
• Based on customer applications, work with technical marketing/system engineer to promote the company'ssystem solutions
• Provide first-line technical support during the customer design phase, including system integration and system debugging
• Work with Quality engineer, Test engineer & Product engineer for device reliability test and qualification.

Qualifications:

• Results-oriented and able to manage time efficiently and complete tasks on schedule
• Degree level qualification in E&E engineering or a related discipline typically required
• 5+ years’ (senior) or 8+ years(principal) experience as an application engineer or FAE in the switcher, charger, or power management field
• Extensive experience with power device verification and performance evaluation
• Applications and system-level knowledge of Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost converter, LDO, Load Switch, Charger, or power management systems
• Experience with power PCB design and component selection
• Capability to support first line applications to customers and FAEs (Automotive customer support experience is a plus)
• Written and verbal English communication skills
• Experience or knowledge in Python scripting or similar is welcome
• Ability to mentor and supervise technical skills for junior engineers
• May require overseas business travel for training and customer support.
