Data Analyst Agritech

Farm21 is looking for Data Analyst who likes to work in a highly dynamic Agritech startup. While we currently have a small team, we are active in 15 countries.

Our online platform provides farmers with advice and actions needed for optimal crop production. Through this advice, fewer resources are used to achieve better yields; more efficiency, better returns; higher sustainability. Data sources we use for this include our own field sensors but also weather forecasts, soil information, satellite images, etc. It is up to the Data Analyst to build the data analytics and find the connection within the data.

In addition, our ambitions go beyond large farms. In the coming years, we will also work on propositions for small farmers in developing countries. They are responsible for 80% of the food consumed in developing countries. We believe they must be part of the digitisation of agriculture to solve the world food crisis. We can help increase their yields, giving them a better income and the world more food.

This role allows you to work on an infinity of possibilities, but within one platform. At Farm21, you get the time and space for depth, but every project requires a different approach and data set to work with.

Tasks

Farm21 aims to generate insights for farmers based on data. We're continuously looking for more and better data to help farmers make better decisions. Your tasks will include:

• Combining different data sources.
• Refinement of (sensor) data, and identifying gaps in data.
• Generate insights and visualize/ interpret data using machine learning/deep-learning models.

Requirements

You

• Have an interest in arable farming
• Knowledge of biological (plant) processes
• Are always curious about learning new stuff
• Identify good-quality data sources

Responsibilities

• Work together in a team to generate useful insights from data
• Identify good-quality data sources
• Identify missing data
• Build, test and maintain data models
• Implementation of data models in a production environment

Qualifications

• Fluent in English
• Experience in the agricultural sector
• Bachelor's degree/level or higher

Bonus

• Experience in crop growth modeling
• Experience in SQL/PostgreSQL
• Experience in Python
