Sheet Metal Estimator

Review and understand job specifications and drawings and follow through with estimating process to develop competitive bids
Prepare customer RFQs to be estimated by gathering specifications, proposals, blueprints, and related documents as required. Reviewing RFQs for both deliverable and quality requirements
Identifies labor, time, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing requirements
Understanding the labor variances between project types and apply appropriate correction factors.
Create and submit clear and full proposals to customer in a timely manner
Utilize internal ERP system to maintain cost structure
Manage multiple estimates at the same time
Communicate with customer to gather information, clarify specifications, wording, etc
Excellent time management skills
Self-motivated with strong willingness and ability to learn and be challenged
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Works effectively in a team environment
Requirements:
Preference of 5-8 years in quoting and estimating
Preference of 3-5 years in custom metal fabrication industry
Post-secondary education in mechanical/engineering studies is required
Understanding of the required labor hours in custom metal fabrication
Good knowledge of welding, machining, sheet metal fabrication, polishing and other inter-related trades
Any shop experience in custom metal fabrication is a plus
Experience with AutoCAD (Lantek is a plus)
Effective communication skills (English)
