Head of Data (all genders)

Your Responsibilities

As Head of Data at FRIDAY you will lead and develop our team of analysts, engineers & scientists.

In this role you will lead the team s engagement with business stakeholders and executives by creating strong partnerships in order to push a data driven culture within FRIDAY.

Your goal is to build a world-class data team through effective processes and people management, helping our engineers, analysts and scientists discover and grow into their full potential.

• Own and enhance our AWS-based data platform and data architecture
• Together with the CTO and CPO you will develop the data strategy and vision for our product
• You will lead the effort to become a fully data driven culture by ensuring the data team is well integrated in the company
• You are passionate about quality and security and will build the right tools and processes to ensure the availability and quality of all our data.
• Partner with business and product teams to bring data in our operational processes and to leverage the information as a benefit for customers and the company
• Join the team hands-on to solve technical challenges
• Develop people from your team using coaching, mentoring and feedback (Career Path, Feedbacks, etc.)
• Work with Team People to attract, onboard and retain our top talent

Your ideal background and skillset

• 5+ years of experience leading, developing and scaling agile data teams
• Proven skills and hands-on experience in creating and managing an enterprise-wide Data Platform, while setting best practices for security, privacy, monitoring & alerting, and CI/CD
• A very good understanding of modern data tool stacks and cloud technologies (AWS, Spark, Presto, Airflow, MLFlow)
• Experience with implementing data products across multiple business units
• Strong stakeholder facing skills and the ability to communicate complex analytical concepts with confidence
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Nice to have :

• Experience in the insurance industry and the regulation in this industry
• Prior experience in startup environments
• Experience developing projects in a microservice architecture
• Experience with various technologies and curiosity for more
