Laboratory ( Evening Shift)

Position:Phlebotomist

Dept Details per shift:Evening shift supports a very busy (400 patients/day) Emergency Department while continuing to provide support to the hospital and onsite Convenient Care. Carle is a Level 1 Trauma Center, so we see the most severe patients. We utilize Soft as our LIS program. Phlebotomists have mobile carts that they carry supplies on between rooms.

Weekends:E/O wknd

Holidays:1-2 per contract

On-Call: 1-2 call shifts/week, pre-shift call is 5 hours before with 1 hour response time, after-shift call is 4 hours.

Required Certifications:BLS, PBT(ASCP) or equivalent

Required Experience:1 year, 300+ bed hospital, experience with Emergency department/Trauma collections.

Preferred experience:Soft LIS system, comfortable with pediatric, ICU, and Trauma collections

Nurse/Patient ratio: 1-5

# Beds:525 plus 70 bed emergency room

Dress Code:Scrubs--Caribbean Blue is preferred. No requirement of purchasing specific color for contract. Avoid Navy Blue and Grey

Add l Info:Very fast-paced environment. Candidate should be able to collect 40-50 patients in 8 hour/shift. Expect to walk approximately 5 miles/8 hour shift.
