- Provide GIS technical advice, skill development, and mentoring to RefuGIS team members with GIS skill levels ranging from novice to expert.
- Manage GIS projects assigned to the RefuGIS team in terms of allocation of project technical tasks to RefuGIS team members, quality control of final products, and curation of final products and datasets.
- Train and mentor RefuGIS team members on how to teach GIS to other refugees.
- Develop GIS learning pathways for RefuGIS team members to advance from novice to expert levels.
- Liaison with UNHCR and implementing partners on RefuGIS activities and outreach.
- Responsible for aiding in all project information services, primarily data management, GPS support and data collection and processing and reporting quality control.
- Managing geospatial and file based documents to ensure data quality standards are maintained, editing geospatial data and preparing cartographic products.
- Perform GIS data quality control of field data. The process of quality control includes reviewing the data for completeness and accuracy, identifying, correcting errors or omissions in the data and insuring that that data is stored correctly in the project GIS database, including, correct coordinate projection and metadata.
