Linux Systems Administrator

The Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for administering and supporting the Banks Linux systems servers virtual environments backup systems and related infrastructure. The role coordinates with relevant departments to resolve technical issues maintain system availability and support the stable and secure operation of the Banks IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create configure administer and maintain the Banks core servers and server environments located in Iraq and other operating locations.
• Provide timely technical support for Linux systems servers infrastructure equipment and related technologies to maintain service availability and operational efficiency.
• Diagnose and resolve faults affecting hardware operating systems servers and related infrastructure.
• Coordinate and follow up on the repair of defective equipment and systems.
• Prepare install configure and test new servers equipment and operating systems.
• Monitor the distribution and storage of data across the Banks storage systems.
• Administer and monitor backup operations to ensure that data system records and configurations are properly protected.
• Maintain and update Linux operating systems virtualization platforms backup systems and related infrastructure applications.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to investigate and resolve Linux-related system and hardware issues.
• Apply system updates patches configurations and security controls in accordance with approved procedures.
• Monitor system performance capacity availability and resource utilization and address identified issues.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation covering system configurations installations changes and troubleshooting activities.
• Prepare and submit periodic operational reports to the direct manager.
• Follow the Banks information-security requirements internal procedures and applicable regulatory instructions.
• Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the direct manager.

Qualifications :

Academic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science or an equivalent discipline relevant to the position.

Experience Requirements

• Between one and three years of relevant experience in Linux system administration virtualization IT infrastructure or a related field.
• Candidates without direct experience in the same field may be considered if they hold a recognized certification in Linux or virtualization.
