Contracts Associate

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the National Bank of Iraq in filed lawsuits and in all legal matters requiring an authorized representative in accordance with the approved authorities and regulations.
• Negotiate with individuals or relevant entities involved in legal cases and lawsuits to reach mutually beneficial settlements in the presence of the Administrative Officer.
• Follow up on cases related to the Banks customers before civil courts judicial and quasi-judicial committees negotiate with customers and seek acceptable solutions regarding granted credit facilities in coordination with the Administrative Officer.
• Review and analyze legal information and documentation related to various cases and examine all relevant records and documents in order to provide appropriate legal advice.
• Maintain and update all legal records files and data related to lawsuits and legal cases in accordance with applicable procedures and instructions ensuring that records reflect the latest developments and case outcomes.
• Ensure strict confidentiality of all legal cases and refrain from disclosing any details documents or submitted pleadings to unauthorized parties.
• Review lease agreements related to the Bank from a legal perspective document them and complete notarization/authentication procedures when required by the Bank.
• Review and verify penalty clauses and legal conditions in contracts related exclusively to the Banks lease agreements.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the direct supervisor.
• Attend all hearings before civil and criminal courts as scheduled and ensure that postponements are not requested without obtaining prior approval from the Legal Department Management.
• File appeals and cassation petitions against judgments and decisions related to assigned cases while observing all statutory deadlines stipulated under the Civil Procedure Law Real Estate Registration Law and Enforcement Law.
• Safeguard lawyers stamps ensure payment and endorsement of legal fees on all submitted applications and wear the approved legal robe before all courts except during proceedings before Investigation Courts Misdemeanor Courts and Criminal Courts where attendance is in the capacity of complainant or legal representative.
• Follow up on enforcement procedures against defaulting customers and ensure that such procedures are not suspended except upon a decision and approval from the Legal Department Management and the Bank.

Qualifications :

Bachelors Degree in Law

13 years of experience in a similar role.
