The Palestinian Red Crescent Society is a Palestinian national association with an independent legal personality established in 1968, and the National Council, in its sixth session held in Cairo in 1969, approved its humanitarian, social and health role in serving the Palestinian people, alongside the Palestinian national bodies, and its role was confirmed by Presidential Decree No. 46 For the year 1993 issued on 3/8/2006. According to the powers vested in it, the association operates as a single voluntary relief association to assist public authorities in the humanitarian field in the territories of the state of Palestine, at all times, as well as in Arab countries hosting Palestinian refugees, according to understandings with sister societies, in accordance with the Geneva Conventions of 1949, and the added protocols And, according to international humanitarian law and the principles of the international movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, namely: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, volunteerism, unity, universality.
