Job Purpose: To provide a warm and welcoming first impression manage guest seating efficiently and ensure a positive start to the dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Greeting and Seating:
- Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
- Manage the waiting list and accurately estimate wait times.
- Seat guests according to restaurant layout and table availability considering guest preferences.
- Provide menus and inform guests of any specials or promotions.
- Escort guests to their tables with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
- Reservation Management:
- Manage and confirm reservations accurately.
- Organize and maintain the reservation system.
- Communicate reservation changes or special requests to the management and serving staff.
- Guest Communication:
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Provide information about restaurant hours menu items and services.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with tact and diplomacy escalating to management when necessary.
- Front-of-House Organization:
- Maintain a clean and organized host/hostess station.
- Ensure adequate supply of menus and other materials.
- Coordinate with serving staff to ensure smooth table turnover.
- Monitor the flow of guests and anticipate seating needs.
- Team Support:
- Assist serving staff with tasks as needed such as delivering messages or assisting with seating arrangements.
- Communicate effectively with all team members.
- Support the asst. manager and store manager with front of house tasks.
- Compliance and Professionalism:
- Adhere to company dress code and maintain high standards of personal hygiene.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
