AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations from foundational services such as Amazons Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWSs services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization youll support the development and management of Compute Database Storage Internet of Things (Iot) Platform and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within AWS UC Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) roles engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Experienced Software Development Engineer EBS Data Plane Durability Engine

Amazon Web Services is looking for experienced engineers to help us define and build the future of computing. The AWS Elastic Block Store (EBS) service delivers high performance virtualized storage in the cloud for EC2. Durable and performant storage is a key building block for any application and as a member of the EBS team youll work alongside outstanding engineers and leaders to develop and operate one of the largest distributed storage systems in the world.

We are looking for an experienced software development engineer for the storage and durabilityfocused data plane group that owns core EBS logic and contributes to a broad and strategic set of projects. You will be part of a team of engineers that develop and maintain the components enabling EBS storage and high durability. We consistently improve the performance and durability of EBS offerings and we want you to be part of that charter!








Key job responsibilities
Analyze customer needs and design solutions that keep the customer front of mind
Implement and test solutions in various programming languages
Define metrics and monitoring procedures to provide visibility in how your software is behaving
Document software solutions and operational procedures

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
3 years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java C or C# including objectoriented design experience
3 years of experience using C/C

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
