Job Summary

Emerson Automations Solutions MEA is inviting Applications for the position of Project Manager for its Flow Control Valves Business Unit to be stationed at Dhahran Saudi Arabia.

The Project Manager should be capable of handling large and medium size projects with Control Valves destined for mainly Oil & Gas Petrochemicals Power Metals & Mining industries. The candidate should be able to handle independently the complete cycle of the project including techno commercial support during project pursuit phase.The Project Manager has the overall responsibility and authority for the implementation and of Customer projects as per the FCV PMO process.

This includes having a complete understanding of the project scope (technical & commercial) and requirements and having ownership for timely approvals timely delivery profitability price uplift and final hand off. The Project Manager has responsibility for developing the Project Plan and is responsible to the Customer the Contractor the Local Business Partner or Sales Office and the Company for overall success and of the project!

This job is based in Dhahran Saudi Arabia and will be responsible for projects in Western region of Emerson MEA business and in other regional offices in Emerson MEA as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate and own several KOB1S large highly sophisticated and multinational projects during pursuit and phases as well as KOB2 projects (medium complex projects).
• Lead a virtual MultiFunctions Project Team from different groups (Global Project Pursuit/Global Industry Sales Sales office Order Administration Engineering Drafting Specification Analyst Project Procurement Manufacturing & Intercompany project management) throughout the life of the project.
• Host & lead the quotation strategy meetings with Project Team & sets proposal schedule with due dates.
• Lead the negotiation of the initial scope of the project change orders progress payments understand commercial terms and conditions and all additions or expansions to the project with the Customer Local Business Partner/Sales Office and Global Industry Sales personnel.
• Quote and own the LeadTime and Comments to the Manufacturing Specs during the pursuit phase
  • Approve the leadtime dedication especially during negotiations
  • Approve any deviations to the Comments to the Manufacturing Specs and understand comments to the Commercial T&Cs Legal T&Cs Bank Guarantees and Technical Product Specifications.
  • Participate in joint project review/discussion with the pursuit team
  • Understand and keep updated on the basic product designs manufacturing process quality systems product selection & sizing tools international design testing & NDE standards.
• Lead internal and external communication meetings at End User / EPC locations/countries intercompany locations to ensure alignment on project schedule & plan
  • Lead the Customer Post Award meeting (or PrePO meeting) with end users / EPCs when the order is committed to Emerson
  • Lead the Internal Kickoff Meeting with Virtual Project Teams (Project Pipe Team) and resource managers in MEA & other world areas (as needed) to resolve all open issues and provide clarity to the Plan
  • Coordinate the PreInspection meeting with the end users Inspector EPC QC team TPIs and achieve clarity to the inspection requirements and process.
• Drive the Project team to conduct & complete the POtoQuote reconciliation process which includes resolving all issues prior to PO Acceptance.
• Work with Internal Project Managers & Resources Managers at both MEA Operations & other world area Operations to develop the overall Project Plan that includes schedules achievements procurement strategy strategy financial targets resources communications and considerations of risks.
• Ensure the project team is aligned with project plan & conduct regular progress reviews meetings with them
• Ensure alignment with the Customer on the FCV Commitment Dates and the Customer PO Dates including breakthrough dates for drawing and procedure submittals drawing and procedures approvals equipment inspection notifications and Ready for Inspection dates.
• Optimally provide leadership for Virtual Project Team (Project Pipe Team) including plant project personnel who are responsible for completing portions of the project. Provide input for performance evaluations on the projects handled.
• Establish and manage financial targets and metrics for the project with the help of the Project Financial Analyst.
• Coordinate manufacturing sites by taking into account material costs project site location and best cost country capabilities through effective planning scheduling and management. Collaborate with project procurement manager factory project teams and Interco project teams for this purpose.
• Interface and continuously connect with the Customer Contractor and LBP throughout the life of the project to provide updates landmarks and progress.
• Work with the KOB3 Team LBPs to finalize completion of the project including the MRO handoff and documentation.
• Conduct closeout meetings with customers EPCs once the is completed.
• Recognize and accept HSE Roles & Responsibilities as defined in Emersons Company Procedures.
• Travel: Will be required based on project demands. Travel will be required to customer offices end user sites EPC engineering offices sub vendors various Fisher factories.
• Adhere to Health Safety & Environment policies as laid by the organization.

Who you are

• Degree in Mechanical Electrical Instrumentation or Chemical Engineering
• Experience in Control Valves field preferred.
• Middle East experience would be preferred.
• Experience in Upstream oil & Gas
• Valid PMP Certification or equivalent is preferred.
• 47 years experience in customer facing Project Management role Inside Sales & Application Engineering in industrial valves business environment / field measuring instruments / Metering integrators / OEMs in Measurement & Flow metering. Valves business includes automated & engineered pipeline valves control valves safety relief valves. Customers serviced to include End Users / EPC Contractors in process industries (eg: Oil & Gas Petrochemical & refining & Power).
