What Youll Do
As a Floor Technician youll play a key role in maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of university facilities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Carpet cleaning and extraction
Preparing floors for cleaning buffing burnishing and refinishing
Operating floor care equipment including auto scrubbers floor machines burnishers and vacuums
Sweeping mopping and vacuuming hard and soft floor surfaces
Performing floor maintenance to ensure a clean polished and professional appearance
Cleaning various surface types throughout campus facilities
Properly mixing using and disposing of cleaning chemicals and solutions
Identifying and reporting maintenance or repair needs to management
Following all safety procedures and cleaning schedules
Delivering quality work in a timely and consistent manner
Physical Requirements
This position requires a high level of physical activity and the ability to:
Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequently bend stoop kneel twist reach push pull and lift
Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance
Climb ladders and work at elevated heights
Work in confined or tight spaces when necessary
Safely operate cleaning and floor care equipment
Work around cleaning chemicals and other cleaning-related materials
Qualifications
Reliable punctual and dependable with a strong work ethic
Effective verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid drivers license or government-issued ID
Social Security card required for employment verification
Must successfully pass a background check

Compensation: $16.00 per hour
