What are we looking for in a Youth Recovery Coordinator
The Youth Recovery Coordinator supports teens or young adults and their families with accessing and engaging with treatment for substance use disorders or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. As part of our Youth & Family TREE grant (Enhancement & Expansion of Treatment and Recovery Services for Adolescents Transitional Aged Youth and their Families) our program focuses on improving and expanding early intervention comprehensive treatment and recovery support services for young people aged 12-25 years old and their families in Walla Walla Benton and Franklin Counties. The Youth Recovery Coordinator collaborates with each client to determine which services within the program meet the clients needs and desired outcomes and then helps to coordinate various treatment services and community resources. When possible the Youth Recovery Coordinator also engages each clients immediate family to strengthen the available supports to that youth and to provide referrals for family members who may also benefit from behavioral health treatment. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse groups of people in order to navigate family dynamics are necessary skills for this position. Comfort making home visits and working outside of an office setting are also essential.

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday ; 8AM-5PM

Youth RecoveryCoordinator duties may include:

• collaborating with each client to develop a treatment plan based on the clients needs and goals
• coordinating services to ensure clients have access to appropriate community resources to support their recovery
• facilitating educational and skill-building groups to assist clients with developing positive activities and motivation
• encouraging clients to develop natural supports by building social skills developing meaningful relationships and engaging with their community
• identifying and collaborating with referral sources to facilitate an efficient pathway for youth and young adults to access treatment
• assessing clients for safety and risk to self or others and taking appropriate crisis intervention steps when indicated
• completing all required progress notes in a client-centered timely manner

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in social work psychology or related field
• Prior experience working with youth and young adults preferred
• Must be eligible forregistration as Agency Affiliated Counselor
• Must have valid drivers license vehicle liability insurance and a safe driving record for the past three years
