Middle Level Assistant Cheer Coach

Position Summary

The Assistant Cheer Coach supports the Head Cheer Coach in developing a positive disciplined and successful cheerleading program. The coach helps teach cheerleading skills promotes sportsmanship ensures student-athlete safety and assists in creating an environment that encourages teamwork school spirit leadership and academic success.

Coaching Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and conducting practices and games.
  • Teach and reinforce proper cheerleading techniques motions jumps stunts tumbling and game-day routines.
  • Help prepare teams for athletic events pep rallies and special school activities.
  • Promote good sportsmanship teamwork and school pride.
  • Support the Head Coach in evaluating athlete performance and development.
  • Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices games competitions travel and team events.
  • Ensure student-athletes follow school district and team rules.
  • Maintain appropriate discipline and positive behavior standards.
  • Foster a safe inclusive and encouraging team culture.
  • Enforce safety guidelines and proper stunt progression.
  • Monitor the condition and use of equipment and uniforms.
  • Report injuries accidents and concerns promptly to the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
  • Follow all school district state athletic association and cheerleading regulations.

Administrative Duties

  • Assist with attendance records communication with parents and team documentation.
  • Help coordinate uniforms equipment fundraising activities and team events as assigned.
  • Attend coaches meetings professional development sessions and required trainings.
  • Support eligibility monitoring and academic expectations for team members.

Qualifications

  • Previous cheerleading and/or coaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of cheerleading fundamentals safety standards and stunt progression.
  • Strong communication leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students parents faculty and administration.
  • Current CPR First Aid and any state-required coaching certifications preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand walk demonstrate skills and supervise activities for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift spot and assist cheerleaders safely during practices and events.
