Yard Driver(CDL Required) Second Shift

Position Summary

The Yard Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently moving trailers containers materials and equipment throughout the companys yard and designated areas. This position supports Shipping Receiving Production and Warehouse operations by ensuring trailers are positioned and available as needed while maintaining a safe organized and efficient yard

Responsibilities:

• Follow all company safety policies procedures and traffic rules.
• Safely operate yard tractors trucks forklifts and other assigned equipment.
• Move trailers to and from loading docks staging areas parking locations and designated yard positions.
• Coordinate with Shipping Receiving Production and Warehouse personnel regarding trailer movements.
• Perform trailer inspections before and after movement and report any damage or safety concerns.
• Secure loads properly before transportation.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer locations and movements.
• Assist with trailer loading/unloading activities as directed.
• Ensure trailers are properly secured and positioned at docks.
• Maintain a clean organized and safe yard.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors drivers and other employees
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Assist with inventory or material movement when needed.
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Immediately report accidents near misses unsafe conditions or equipment defects.
• Maintain awareness of pedestrians vehicles equipment and changing yard conditions.
• Follow designated traffic patterns speed limits and parking procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) required
• Clean and acceptable driving record
• Previous commercial driving manufacturing transportation or logistics experience preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
• Forklift certification is preferred or ability to become certified.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must be able to work assigned shifts including overtime weekends or holidays as required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit stand walk bend stoop climb and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to enter and exit trailers and yard equipment safely.
• Ability to lift and carry materials as required.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to remain alert and attentive while operating equipment for extended periods.
