Quinsigamond Community College (QCC) is a premier learning community recognized for teaching and learning excellence relevant and responsive programming student success and community outreach and impact. The College serves over 9500 full- and part-time day and evening students each year. It offers 112 associate degrees and certificates in Business Hospitality Management Engineering Information Technology Education Healthcare Human Services Criminal Justice Liberal Arts Mathematics Biotechnology Automotive Technology and General Studies. The College also offers a wide variety of non-credit courses workshops and corporate trainings through its Center for Workforce Development and Continuing Education as well as adult basic education and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes through its Adult Community Learning Center. A number of courses are offered online remote and blended to meet the needs of our diverse students. The College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education Inc. (NECHE) an indication that the institution has been stringently evaluated and found to meet high standards.

General Statement

As a Mascot you will be responsible for bringing to life the character and spirit of Quinsigamond Community College by portraying our beloved Mascot. Your role is vital in creating a memorable and entertaining experience for fans engaging with audiences of all ages and enhancing the overall fan engagement at events games and promotional activities.

Supervision Received:

The Director of Athletics & Fitness Assistant Director of Athletics & Fitness or Site Supervisor on duty.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assume the persona of the Mascot character and convey emotions energy and enthusiasm through exaggerated movements gestures and body language.
• Perform dance routines and crowd interactions to entertain and engage fans during gamesand events.
• Encourage audience participation.
• Assist in marketing campaigns and merchandise sales through Mascot-related promotions.
• Be punctual and prepared for all performances.

Minimum Qualifications

• Mascot Costume fits people 54 - 57 tall.
• Excellent physical stamina and endurance to perform in a Mascot costume for extended periods often in varying weather conditions.
• Strong non-verbal communication skills including the ability to convey emotions and enthusiasm through physical gestures and expressions.
• A friendly and engaging personality with the ability to interact positively with fans and represent QCC professionally.
• Comfortable performing in a confined costume with limited visibility and mobility adapting to different performance environments and situations.
• Prioritize safety following safety protocols and ensuring the well-being of both the performer and fans.
• Flexibility in work hours including evenings weekends and holidays to accommodate the QCC event schedule.
