Wound Ostomy RN (WON) Full-Time Days

We are seeking a Wound Ostomy Nurse (WON) to provide wound and ostomy nursing services in inpatient and outpatient clinic settings. This position is eligible for relocation and sign on bonus!!! No weekends or Holidays!!

As a WOCN you will provide skilled and compassionate care for wound/ostomy patients in our ambulatory clinic. Youll be expected to initiate and maintain a leadership or liaison relationship with other health care providers to effectively coordinate multi-disciplinary care.

Youll coordinate optimal third-party coverage for services and keep clients and/or caregivers informed of coverage status and continually evaluate client and caregiver responses to determine progress toward goals and to revise the database nursing diagnoses and the plan of care.

About This Position

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position. Schedule: Mon-Fri 0800-1630 (somewhat negotiable on start time).

You will be assisting patients in our clinic with Preadmission ostomy markings routine ostomy follow-ups and ostomy troubleshooting. You will Float to inpatient wound/ostomy services once clinic time is done. You will cover Float vacation coverage for Inpatient wound/ostomy care at Boise Nampa and Ontario as required and help create a comprehensive ostomy program in a growing department!

Learn more about our wound care services here: KNOWLEDGE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Colleague must have an RN license as defined by their primary work state (Idaho) issued prior to hire date.

• Colleague must provide licensure in their secondary state (Oregon) within six months of hire. Colleague will ensure he/she does not perform nursing care in the secondary state until the secondary licensure is received and properly documented by SAHS Human Resources Department.

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred.

• Board Certified as WON Nurse within 1 year of hire required.

• Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Knows understands incorporates and demonstrates the Organizations Mission Vision and Values in behaviors practices and decisions.

• Responsible for the clients appropriate wound/ostomy nursing care. Develops or contributes to care plans based on nursing diagnoses that establish goals and interventions.

• Performs comprehensive wound/ostomy care within established guidelines under the direction of the Manager and is responsible for providing quality patient care for inpatient and outpatient center which includes knowledge of physical psychological social cultural spiritual and developmental factors of patients served.

• Initiates and maintains a leadership or liaison relationship as appropriate with all health care providers to effectively coordinate multi-disciplinary care. Coordinates optimal third-party coverage for services and keeps clients and/or caregivers informed of coverage status.

• As appropriate assists in managing wound/ostomy patient care in the ambulatory clinic.

• Works with hyperbaric patients as directed by the Medical Director.

• Continually evaluates client and caregiver responses to determine progress toward goals and to revise the database nursing diagnoses and the plan of care.

• Collects and records data that is comprehensive accurate and systematic. Records problems interventions and responses of clients and caregivers according to established procedures and in a timely manner.

• Accurately and promptly identifies learning needs of clients and nursing staff and provides appropriate instruction to clients and/or caregivers. Serves as a consultant to the multi-disciplinary care team to facilitate meeting and caregiver learning needs most effectively.

• Demonstrates compliance with hospital safety policies and procedure.

• Integrates knowledge experience professional standards and hospital policies into nursing practice.

• Practices with the rules and regulations defined by the Idaho State Board of Nursing.

• Educates patient based on assessment of needs.

• Participates in patient care conferences.
