Job Summary

Job Title: Wound Ostomy Nurse (RN)
Location: Newport Beach CA 92660

Duration: 3 months

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30 AM 5 PM

Position Overview:

  • Functions as the clinical resource for patients and staff for ostomy Continence Disorders Acute and Chronic Wound and Skin breakdown and Fistulae.
  • Provides direct wound and ostomy care in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
  • Provides patient/family teaching and instruction of wound and ostomy management both pre and post operatively.
  • Assists the healthcare team in the evaluation of skin and wound products and equipment along with providing educational programs in-services and bedside teaching for the nursing staff.
  • Stays up to date with skin care practices and shares advances in wound and skin care assessments evaluations treatments and prevention measures.
  • Assesses all patients with a pressure injury staged at a 3 or above and sees all patients that have developed a hospital acquired pressure injury (HAPI) and meets appropriate reporting requirements.
  • Assesses overall hospital needs and practices to eliminate HAPIs.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • A minimum of Four (4) years of clinical experience.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) required.
  • A minimum of four years of clinical experience required.
  • Two years of experience in Wound and Ostomy preferred.

License & Certifications Required:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of California - Current and in good standing.
  • Wound and Ostomy Certification
