Glassboro Public Schools is seeking aWorld Language Teacher

THIS IS A FULL-TIME POSITION. However those interested in a part-time position are encouraged to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS:MUST HOLD A K-12 WORLD LANGUAGE CERTIFICATION (Spanish Italian French American Sign Language German Etc).

REPORTS TO:Principal

JOB GOAL/MAJOR FUNCTIONS:Assumes professional responsibility for the educational instruction and supervision of assigned students in accordance with the courses of study approved by the Board of Education.

  1. Plans a program of study and lessons that strives to meet the individual needs interests and abilities of students.
  1. Implements a course of study that includes the identified New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standard and Cumulative Progress Indicators.
  1. Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students maturity and interests.
  1. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives.
  1. Manages the learning environment in a manner that contributes to the efficient accomplishment of both individual teaching assignments and the overall operation of the school.
  1. Assesses students accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports as required.
  1. Guides students toward maximum achievement appropriate actions and decision-making by counseling with students parents and colleagues.
  1. Identifies the learning needs of students on a regular basis seeking the assistance of district specialists when appropriate.
  1. Assists in curriculum development and in the selection of books equipment and other instructional materials.
  1. Attends staff meetings and as appropriate serves on staff committees.
  1. Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules administrative regulations and board policy.
  1. Supervises behavior in the hallways lunchroom and on school grounds for the safety and well-being of students personnel and visitors.
  1. Performs duties within the scope of his/her employment and certifications as assigned by his/her supervisor in accordance with N.J. State Law State Board of Education Rules and Regulations Local Board of Education Policies and contractual obligations.
  1. Strives to maintain awareness of current developments interpretations of subject matter content and teaching methodologies in the subject area(s) to which assigned.
  1. Demonstrates professional and personal attributes that contribute to the quality of school life.
  1. Maintains ethical and professional behavior in working with school personnel and other agencies.
  1. Performs other specific duties assigned by the administration.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a ten (10) month position with salary and contract terms to be negotiated with the Superintendent and the Board of Education.

EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation of personnel.
