Workers Compensation Specialist

Job Summary
- Receives and maintains employee injury reports; reviews employee injury reports and follows up on missing information that is required for accurate reporting
- Documents work comp claims in the claims management system for uploading to Third Party Administrators database and for First Report of Injury to the state
- Maintains the work comp claims management system for tracking open claims and related activities
- May assist with data report preparation and delivery (i.e. face-to-face presentation and electronic transmission) to Workers Compensation internal and third-party team members as well as other Health System committees departments regulatory bodies and other entities as requested by the Director or their designee.
- Provides back up to the Workers Compensation Injury Counselor
- Assists Workers Compensation Injury Counselor in coordinating with the Third-Party Administrator to ensure that protocols are followed and injuries are reported within the required timeframe
- Must be able to perform the professional clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
- 2 or more years of experience in Workers Compensation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with web-based database and reporting systems.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in related field of study from an accredited college or university.
- 2 or more years of clinical professional experience.
- Experience with online work comp related data base(s) and reporting.
