Women's HOPE On-Call Therapist

This Womens HOPE residential program offers specialized care to the underserved female population of San Francisco including low-income African American and Latina women and their families/children with a special focus on pregnant and parenting women with co-occurring substance use and psychiatric disorders. The program is gender-responsive and trauma informed addressing substance use trauma mental illness health and wellness family reunification parenting education employability homelessness and sober living skills. The team of providers at Womens HOPE includes parenting counselors therapists and SUD counselors who provide wrap around services to support and empower our participants as they reach toward their a gender responsive trauma informed approach the On-Call Therapist provide individual couples and family therapy sessions to clients in residential treatment. They may facilitate psychoeducation groups on a variety of core curriculum and collaborate with care management staff to assist clients in obtaining entitlement benefits housing and medical services in the community and participate in discharge RESPONSIBILITIESIndividual Treatment Responsibilities: Provides weekly individual therapy to clients in residentialtreatment and to their partners and families when clinically appropriate. Maintains confidentiality whileworking as part of a treatment team and adhering with program norms. Participates in caseconferences treatment planning and clinical discussions to provide holistic care. Communicates withprescribing psychiatrists regarding psychotropic medication compliance side effects follow Setting Responsibilities: Facilitates psycho-education groups on a variety of core curriculumtopics including Seeking Safety DBT etc. Coordinates discharge planning with clients Care consultation to staff regarding symptom management mental health conditions and crisisintervention strategies. Participates in agency trainings as required. Attends trainings staff meetingsand clinical activities as needed. Plans and presents programs for clinical days. Provides psychologicalprofiles of clients prior to program acceptance. Refers children for counseling as needed. Provides in-service training education for counseling staff. Available for consultation on individual and Compliance Responsibilities: In accordance with guidelines established byHealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external demands of evaluating agencies maintains accuratedocumentation on all clients. Maintains accurate records of all clients and gathers data for monthlyreports. Ensures action on items in logs dailyQUALIFICATIONSEducation Certification and Experience Required:Licensed or Board Registered MFT or MFTI LCSW or ASW Psy.D. or in dual diagnosis substance abuse treatment in an inpatient or outpatient community mental health settingExperience in mental health or psychiatric setting with varied clinical paperwork and record keeping with trauma informed therapy modelsBackground Clearance Must complete background check and livescan clearanceKnowledge Required:In-depth knowledge of all aspects of working in a mother and child residential treatment of family reunification knowledge such as mental health issues trauma life skills anger management criminal behavior crisis competent and able to work with a diverse proficiency with Microsoft Office applications specifically Word Outlook and internet applications.
