Primary Purpose: Work to establish support safety and connectedness for students families faculty and staff by focusing on wrap-around services for students including (but not limited to): expanded learning opportunities for students increased school-based health and wellness services for students expansion of family engagement and support services for families supports/programs to improve student attendance and training for school staff and community partners to successfully meet the districts mission and vision.
Qualifications (Education/Certification/Experience): Bachelors degree
Major Responsibilities:
Special Knowledge Skills and/or Responsibilities:
Experience working with students at all grade levels (K-12)
Knowledge of outside agencies and resources to help refer students and families in need of services beyond the scope of school assistance.
Active in the community (local boards civic organizations etc.)
Leadership and Organization:
Establish a clear compelling plan for student and family engagement that supports the shared vision for the district (K-12).
-Work with the campus principals to develop implement and monitor a strategic plan aligned with the needs of the campus and the district goals leading to continuous improvement.
Work with district/campus staff to design implement supervise and evaluate systemic protocols operations and tools for the delivery of student family engagement and educational support.
Implement and administer procedures that are in compliance with district campus federal and state regulations.
Work closely with the district/campus staff to design programs that lead to feelings of support safety connectedness and growth of individual well-being on each campus.
Work closely with district/campus staff to develop implement and plan activities that focus on the needs of the students families and educators.
Participate in campus problem solving teams and school crisis prevention and response teams to promote connectedness and safety.
Services:
Work with district admin campus principals and staff to identify and address student and family needs.
-Collaborate with district admin campus principals and staff to maintain a multi-tiered continuum of services to support academic social emotional and behavior goals for students.
Monitor a continuum of academic mental behavioral emotional and physical health supports for students including individual and group counseling positive behavioral supports and parent education.
Work closely with district admin campus principals and staff to design programming training activities speakers etc. that address roadblocks to academic and individual success.
Work closely with district admin campus principals and staff to design programming training activities speakers etc. that recognize and celebrate student strengths and successes.
Work with district admin campus principals and staff to promote team building activities and strategies that build a positive campus climate connectedness and safety. Work with district admin campus principals and staff to provide opportunities for students and families to plug in and be connected to academics extra-curricular mental behavioral emotional and physical health services and activities on campus.
Work campus principals and staff to provide academic counseling and transition services that lead to college career and military readiness and post secondary success for all students. Work with district admin campus principals and staff to assist in removing obstacles that might prevent academic and post-secondary success.
Work with campus principals and staff to assist with campus to campus transitions for students and parents.
Work with campus principals and staff to provide emotional and behavior interventions that provide students with skills and techniques to support positive behavior development and teachers with practices and professional development that targets the implementation of positive behavior supports in the classroom.
School/Community Relations:
Serve as a liaison between school and home; establish trusting relationships and serve as a point of contact for families; create a welcoming environment.
Promote educational well-being through active involvement with the students families faculty community and local civic organizations.
Promote community involvement in the district and across community services/organizations.
Maintain visibility within the district and across campuses.
Communication:
Establish and maintain effective open communication with students parents educators and administrators.
Provide a variety of information/assistance regarding district and community services.
Promote programs activities and opportunities to students parents staff and the community through effective communication with stakeholders and business and civic organizations.
Coordinate and maintain a website that includes information about the available systems of support in the areas of: academics mental behavioral emotional physical health and partnership services
-Conduct formal and informal presentations trainings and workshops for students families and educators regarding relevant topics related to wellness.
Maintain confidentiality of student parent and employee personal information.
Administrative/Fiscal Management:
Manage the operating budget.
Provide reports data and all required information promptly and accurately ensuring the proper maintenance of student records.
Participate in professional development activities in order to remain well trained on current issues and responsibilities in the areas of academics (CCMR) campus safety and connectedness mental behavioral emotional physical health.
