Job Summary
Job Overview:
The Well Planner II supports the development of well plans and engineering designs to enable safe efficient and cost-effective drilling operations. The role works closely with senior engineers drilling teams and clients to contribute to well design planning activities and operational execution.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the development of well plans including trajectories drilling programs
Perform basic to intermediate engineering calculations (e.g. hydraulics torque & drag)
Support the operational schedules
Analyze offset well data to support planning and optimization
Collaborate with drilling supervisors and engineers.
Identify potential risks and support mitigation planning
Ensure compliance with HSE standards and regulatory requirements
Prepare technical documentation End of Well Report and well programs
Provide support to ongoing drilling operations when required
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Skills:
Basic understanding of well planning and drilling engineering principles
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Good communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn and develop in a technical environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced project-driven setting
Familiarity with engineering or drilling software is an advantage
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in petroleum/ Reservoir Engineering Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum 1 year of experience in drilling engineering well planning or related field
Basic knowledge of drilling operations and well design concepts
