Job Summary

USD 495 is seeking a motivated and student-focusedWelding/Vocational Education Instructorfor Larned High School. The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction in welding and related career and technical education (CTE) courses while preparing students for postsecondary education industry certifications and workforce opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Teach welding and related vocational education courses to high school students.
  • Develop and implement engaging hands-on learning experiences aligned with Kansas Career and Technical Education standards.
  • Maintain a safe and productive laboratory/shop environment.
  • Integrate employability leadership and workplace readiness skills into instruction.
  • Build relationships with local industry partners and community stakeholders.
  • Maintain program equipment inventory and safety procedures.
  • Participate in school and district professional responsibilities and activities.
Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • Hold a valid Kansas teaching license with an appropriate Career and Technical Education endorsement;or
  • Possess relevant industry experience and qualifications that may allow eligibility for aKansas CTE Specialized Certificate.

Candidates with extensive welding fabrication manufacturing construction or related industry experience are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards and practices.
  • Experience working with high school-aged students apprentices or adult learners.
  • Industry certifications and/or credentials relevant to welding and manufacturing.
Salary and Benefits

Salary and benefits will be based on district salary schedules education experience and applicable district policies.
