- Preventative & Corrective Maintenance on lift stations and their assets (generators/auxiliary pumps) including inspections.
- Servicing the Vacuum station (a collection system that relies on vacuum suction to transport sewage from homes within the neighborhood) is different from the typical gravity/force main sewer system.
- Fix & repair leaks to water reclaim and force mains as they arise.
- Installs and changes out water and reuse meters.
- Perform meter reads.
- Work with Utility billing and customer service relations.
- City hall generates work orders whether this is turn on or turn offs for accounts.
- Flushes hydrants maintenance exercises valves and performs pressure tests of fire hydrants.
- Service backflows (if the license is obtained).
- Work with GIS for locates.
- Operates various heavy and light equipment including backhoes crane truck vac trucks etc.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
- Graduation from a standard high school or vocational school including or supplemented by courses in mechanical electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of pumps compressors and plumbing fixtures preferred.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to repair pumping equipment and control switches.
- Experience with wastewater and water transfer systems a plus!
- Water Distribution License issued by the state of Florida or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
- Must possess a valid FL drivers license and a safe driving record.
- CDL is a plus or the ability to obtain within the first 6 months.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a DOT background check DOT pre-placement physical and DOT drug screen before employment.
